The Only Way Out was a weird one Because I just basically been trying to do, uh, quite a complex song And I think I might have possibly thrown it out Because I like to do the same songs that I'm working to And I thought, I wanted this exercise of writing the simplest song possibleReally, just approaching it like What, if it was just to be like straight forward, what would it be? What was the simplest song you can write? And so, I wrote that song without any expectation No, no, no weight of, of where it may go or how even it failNever knew if I would keep it or not So that's, is kind of weird that one came about And I think that what's most palatable about it It's the easiest song, the easiest step ladder into the record
