Biografía de The Mission
The Mission es una banda de rock gótico originaria de Leeds, Inglaterra, fundada en 1986 por el cantante y guitarrista Wayne Hussey. Nacido en Gateshead en 1961, Hussey comenzó su carrera musical como miembro de The Sisters of Mercy antes de formar The Mission con Craig Adams (bajo), Mick Brown (batería) y Simon Hinkler (guitarra).
La banda se caracterizó por su sonido melódico y potente, combinando elementos del rock gótico con influencias del new wave y el post-punk. Su primer álbum, "God's Own Junkyard", fue lanzado en 1986 y logró un éxito moderado en el Reino Unido. Sin embargo, su segundo trabajo discográfico, "Children" (1987), se convirtió en uno de los álbumes más importantes del rock gótico, con temas como "Wasteland", "Tower of Strength" y "Crazy" que se convirtieron en clásicos del género.
