En 1978 publicaron su primer álbum, "The Feeding of the 5000", seguido de otros como "Stations of the Crass" (1979), "Penis Envy" (1981) y "Christ - The Album" (1982).
Además, han influenciado a numerosas bandas posteriores, como Fugazi, Refused y Rage Against the Machine.
