Biografía de B.B. King
Riley B. King, conocido mundialmente como B.B. King, nació en 1925 en una plantación de algodón cerca de Itta Bena, Mississippi, en una familia afroamericana de escasos recursos. Criado en el corazón del Delta del Mississippi, quedó huérfano de madre siendo muy joven y fue educado por su abuela materna. Desde temprana edad mostró interés por la música, comenzando a tocar la guitarra de manera autodidacta y cantando en el coro de la iglesia local. Sus primeras influencias incluyeron a músicos como T-Bone Walker y Lonnie Johnson. A finales de los años cuarenta se trasladó a Memphis, donde comenzó su carrera profesional tocando en las calles y posteriormente consiguió un programa de radio en la emisora WDIA, donde adoptó el apodo de "Blues Boy King", que después se acortaría a B.B. King.
B.B. King desarrolló un estilo único que combinaba el blues tradicional del Delta con elementos más modernos y sofisticados. Su técnica guitarrística se caracterizaba por un vibrato distintivo y expresivo, además de su capacidad para hacer "llorar" a su guitarra, a la que llamaba cariñosamente "Lucille".
